Stop Saying These 3 Phrases If You Want Real Progress

Show notes

Certain phrases seem harmless but have a strong impact on how teams think and act. Words like “I hope”, “I can’t” or “I try” often shift responsibility away from action and slow down real progress.

Small changes in language can completely change how ownership, problem-solving and execution show up in daily practice. This shift affects not only individual performance but also team dynamics and leadership clarity. The result is more focus, more energy and a more proactive way of working.

00:00:37: The first phrase is I hope it works out!

00:00:46: When someone says I hope They are handing over responsibility to external forces Hope means no control No ownership No plan.

00:00:56: Instead of saying I do what is necessary to make it work.

00:01:04: That single shift puts control back where it belongs, with the person responsible for that task.

00:01:10: Hope waits Action decides.

00:01:12: The second phrase even more dangerous This is final.

00:02:04: Trying already contains an excuse for failure.

00:02:07: Instead of I try the language should be... I start with this step!

00:02:14: Progress only happens when The First Step is clearly defined And actually taken.

00:02:19: This applies directly to lean orthodontics as well.

00:02:22: Motivation alone doesn't change anything.

00:02:25: Implementation does.

00:02:27: People leave courses inspired, but if they don't block time take a first action and build momentum immediately.
