00:00:13: Now enjoy watching & listening!

00:00:28: This quote right here, it's really the heart of our entire discussion.

00:00:31: Think about when we let unnecessary stuff whether its physical items clunky processes or just plain distractions pile up what happens?

00:00:37: We fundamentally lose focus.

00:00:38: that is absolutely required for high-level clinical work.

00:00:40: we do and look this isn't a messy desk or disorganized storage room.

00:00:44: clutter in practice well leads directly to wasting your most valuable resources.

00:00:48: were talking about money.

00:00:49: you're team talent time off course.

00:00:50: own energy system problem requires systemic solution.

00:00:55: so What's that solution?

00:00:57: It is what I call lean orthodontics.

00:00:59: Now this isn't just about tidying up, no it's a whole management philosophy!

00:01:03: Its' about consciously deliberately designing our practice to get rid of anything that disrupts the streamlined efficient and really focused way working.

00:01:10: Okay so here are road map.

00:01:12: We'll kick things off by digging into problem The high cost clutter.

00:01:15: Then we will walk through each five S steps Sort Systematize Clean and Standardize.

00:01:20: And big one Discipline.

00:01:22: Finally Get good part Pay-off for you and your practice.

00:01:25: So let's take a closer look at the method itself.

00:01:27: It is all built on these five pillars, sort, systematized clean standardized and self-discipline.

00:01:32: And what so great about this?

00:01:33: that each step logically builds onto one before it All comes together to create really powerful systems for truly efficient low stress environment.

00:01:41: Alright lets start with first S, sort This foundation The very first step And its simple Really?

00:01:47: Sorting out Then getting rid of everything unnecessary.

00:01:50: Its all about ruthless simplification.

00:01:52: Now, what's so powerful here is how broadly this concept applies.

00:01:54: I mean we're talking about getting rid of those old physical model cabinets and going fully digital freeing up all that space.

00:01:59: it also means stop collecting materials from every single manufacturer you meet at a conference.

00:02:03: instead master one core system.

00:02:05: i mean ask yourself do you really need ten different arch forms or could you just perfect your wire bending for that rare outlier case?

00:02:10: This even applies to diagnostics.

00:02:11: Do You truly Need Every Single Value From A SEF Analysis?

00:02:13: Or Can You Just Focus On The Key Dimensions To Solve the Problem At Hand?

00:02:15: And here's a big one, this even applies to our patient list.

00:02:17: It means prioritizing the ideal patients you love to treat over those who let be honest consistently disrupt your workflow and your team's morale.

00:02:23: Okay so once we've sorted everything out what's next?

00:02:25: Well now we can move on to the second S which is systematize.

00:02:28: See once you have gotten rid of anything that isn't necessary.

00:02:30: The next step it create a logical strategic arrangement for every thing thats left.

00:02:34: Let me give you really practical example.

00:02:36: in my own practice For something as complex as class two case We created super simple systems.

00:02:40: We have cabinet with drawers and are clearly labeled each main treatment path you know, drawer A for functional B for distalization and so on.

00:02:46: What does this do?

00:02:47: It makes our decision making incredibly fast consistent and predictable.

00:02:50: there's zero guesswork in This.

00:02:51: very same principle applies right down to the micro level.

00:02:54: every single drawer at Every single one of your treatment chairs has to be stocked identically.

00:02:57: The goal here is simple.

00:02:58: You or your assistant should be able To reach from an instrument without even looking knowing with absolute certainty that it's going to Be There.

00:03:03: That Right There Is The Essence Of Systematisation.

00:03:06: All right, moving on.

00:03:07: Next up we're actually going to combine the third and fourth steps clean and standardized.

00:03:10: this is where We really elevate the whole concept or moving beyond just organizing our physical space.

00:03:14: And now we're organizing our mental space in all of our processes.

00:03:17: So here's a crucial point I want you To get it.

00:03:19: cleanliness is so much more than Just basic hygiene.

00:03:21: It's about mental hygiene.

00:03:23: think About if the light On your chair is broken You can't see properly to bond A bracket.

00:03:26: that creates waste.

00:03:27: it Creates frustration If personal phones are out on The counter during treatment.

00:03:29: planning focus Is just shattered?

00:03:31: Clean workspace is one That is completely free from any and all distractions.

00:03:35: And you know, this idea of clean extends to your team's communication too.

00:03:38: Is it clean?

00:03:39: is a purposeful?

00:03:40: or remember I once had a lab employee who waited an entire day.

00:03:42: just ask us simple follow-up question that delay.

00:03:44: That was huge form waste and could have been completely eliminated in two minutes if we had clear immediate communication protocols in place.

00:03:50: So brings up standardization.

00:03:52: This all about the workflow itself.

00:03:53: It creates rock solid consistency using tools like consultation scripts predictable appointment chains even unified dress code because when every single team member aligned their language actions patient feels secure they get.

00:04:04: they understand that your entire practice operates as one single cohesive unit.

00:04:08: And that brings us to the fifth, and I would argue the most critical S self-discipline.

00:04:12: Now this isn't just another step on the list This is a leadership trait That makes sure The first four steps actually stick around.

00:04:17: because let me tell you without discipline the entire system will eventually Just collapse.

00:04:22: You know i often use this analogy in my mentoring programs?

00:04:27: This is the person who's constantly improvising, skipping steps and literally running around putting out fires that frankly they created themselves.

00:04:32: Their days are filled with stress And their results?

00:04:34: They're all over the place inconsistent.

00:04:36: But then there's a James Bond professional.

00:04:38: this person follows The system.

00:04:39: they stay composed There always in control even when things get complicated.

00:04:42: their work environment Is basically zero stress and the results Are predictably excellent every time.

00:04:46: the difference between them It's discipline.

00:04:48: so you might be thinking after All this work the sorting the system enticing the standardizing what's the ultimate payoff What's the real return on this investment of effort and discipline?

00:04:56: Well, for one thing you completely avoid that yo-yo effect.

00:04:58: You know where order just descends back into chaos every few months.

00:05:01: but even more importantly... ...you make yourself dispensable from all the small repetitive tasks.

00:05:04: and what does it do?

00:05:05: It frees up your mental energy, it frees out of time to focus on what you actually do best.

00:05:09: Your core clinical expertise And ultimate goal gives you freedom to have a life outside office.

00:05:15: So I'm going leave with this question to think about in practice When you walk through clinic doors each morning Are you getting ready for a day of putting out fires or are you the calm, composed professional who is in complete control of your environment?

00:05:27: So ask yourself.
