00:00:27: Martin Baxman, and today we're going to pinpoint the exact words that are draining your team's motivation.

00:00:54: By getting rid of them, you can turn your language into a single most powerful leadership tool.

00:00:59: So here's our game plan!

00:01:00: First we're going to define what this Language Of Inefficiency really is.

00:01:04: then get in the specifics dissecting three deadliest terms.

00:01:07: I hope so...I can't and try Finally tie it all together and talk about The Big Picture building a genuine culture of action.

00:01:15: i call these the silent killers of progress.

00:01:20: They seem so harmless, right?

00:01:21: They just creep into our daily conversations.

00:01:23: But underneath the surface they are actively undermining your team's efficiency and their sense of ownership.

00:01:28: Learning to spot them —and more importantly replace- them is one of the most powerful skills you can develop as a leader.

00:01:33: Okay!

00:01:33: Our first deadly term is I hopeso.

00:01:36: Now on this surface it sounds positive doesn't it?

00:01:38: Maybe even optimistic but if really look at what being said It's declaration powerlessness.

00:01:43: That's What It Is.

00:01:44: It's subtly but very effectively removes accountability from the person speaking and places the outcome in the hands of, well luck.

00:01:51: Just think about this your own clinical setting for a moment.

00:01:54: You ask team member if afternoon schedule is going to run on time And response you get I hope so.

00:01:59: That should be huge red flag.

00:02:00: it completely passive.

00:02:02: relies just happening fall into place.

00:02:04: Now contrast that with i will make at work The shift monumental isn't?

00:02:09: Its commitment its promise actively manage situation anticipate problems take control And that right there, is the absolute core of a lean efficient practice.

00:02:18: We're not in business crossing our fingers and hoping for the best – we are engineers with our own success!

00:02:23: We build systems just like these gears to achieve predictable positive results…and this simple change in language?

00:02:29: Well it's very first step moving your team from state-of-passive hope into one active creation.

00:02:34: Alright onto our second deadly term... I can't.

00:02:37: This one, this ones even more final.

00:02:38: it's not just passive its a brick wall.

00:02:40: It is full stop to professional development and problem solving.

00:02:42: Its limiting belief that shuts down all possibilities before they could be explored.

00:02:47: Imagine the team members saying i cant learn new imaging software.

00:02:50: Thats dead end conversation over But what if we reframe it too?

00:02:53: Im looking for solutions.

00:02:55: See how completely opens door.

00:02:57: Now we have something to work with.

00:02:58: We can talk about training, resources and make a plan!

00:03:01: It's the classic shift from fixed mindset into growth mindset – it is absolutely essential for any modern practice.

00:03:07: There's great story of basketball player Bo Dux.

00:03:09: He was only one hundred sixty-eight centimeters tall, incredibly short for professional players.

00:03:13: If he had adopted that mind set of I cant do this because i'm too short His story would've ended right there But instead started looking at solutions.

00:03:20: He focused on what could control becoming faster, more athletic and developing incredible court vision.

00:03:25: That is the exact same mindset we need when we face a new challenge or a new piece of technology in our own

00:03:28: practices."

00:03:29: Okay?

00:03:30: Our third and final deadly term!

00:03:31: And honestly this might be most insidious one-of all.

00:03:34: it's the phrase I try.

00:03:36: It sounds like they're putting an effort right but what really is special form of inactivity?

00:03:41: its prebuilt excuse for why goal wasn't reached gives impression even if result was failure.

00:03:46: I ran a little experiment in my seminars that illustrates this perfectly.

00:03:49: Imagine the person on the left is told to try-to walk, what do they do?

00:03:52: They hesitate!

00:03:53: They're uncertain...they are wading through cloud of doubt.

00:03:56: That's trying.

00:03:57: Now look at the person right There have been told simply to walk.

00:04:00: The instruction is clear and so action is decisive.

00:04:03: Drying creates hesitation.

00:04:05: Doing creates motion.

00:04:06: It' s simple.

00:04:07: So whats the antidote for trying?

00:04:09: Well it´s here A simple three step process.

00:04:11: First, you have to eliminate the word try from your team's vocabulary entirely.

00:04:15: Second You help them break the task down and identify just a very first concrete action.

00:04:19: Don't worry about step ten.

00:04:20: Just focus on step one.

00:04:21: And third execute out for step.

00:04:23: That's it.

00:04:23: This is how you break that cycle of stagnation and create real tangible momentum.

00:04:27: So let's pull back for a moment and see How this all connects Because correcting individual words in phrases That's the tactic.

00:04:33: But strategy The big picture Is so much larger.

00:04:35: It's about using this linguistic discipline to build a true culture of action, ownership and accountability.

00:04:40: And that is the bedrock for any lean high-performing practice!

00:04:43: I see this play out constantly after my seminars.

00:04:46: i'll check in with attendees few weeks later.

00:04:48: The ones who are struggling they're always telling me their trying time to implement what they learned.

00:04:52: But successful ones never use those words.

00:04:54: They tell them one specific tool just put it into practice on first day back at clinic.

00:04:59: They are doers not tryers Because ultimately This all comes down to Ownership.

00:05:05: As the leader, you are responsible for every system in your practice.

00:05:08: And that includes this system of language.

00:05:11: by coaching Your team to replace these three simple phrases You're building a culture of discipline and resilience A culture that doesn't just survive a busy day but actually thrives on it.

00:05:19: So I want to leave you with a question something for you To really think about?

00:05:22: You have systems for scheduling right first sterilization For clinical analysis for everything.

00:05:27: But what about your language The very system your team uses to communicate to plan and execute Every single minute of?

00:05:34: Is that system your strongest?

00:05:35: Or is it your weakest link.

00:05:37: So where do you start?

00:05:38: what's the first step, It's actually really simple.

00:05:41: Start today.

00:05:41: make these three powerful replacements Your new standard of communication.

00:05:45: shift entire team from a mindset Of hope to one of action.

00:05:48: move them From limitations To solutions and transform trying into doing.

00:05:52: eliminate These phrases And I absolutely guarantee You will see A measurable immediate increase in your teams Efficiency.
